I love action thrillers that incorporate drama but never usually buy a new author book early on. In this case my wife works in healthcare and sent me a link from a post she received from her coworker with the recommendation so I gave it a read.

This book is a rollercoaster ride of technology, medical drama, and teenage cleverness. I like that it doesn’t require a technical degree to understand and it doesn’t really start slow but definitely gets better later on in parts 3 thru 5 because that’s where questions about certain events like how the attackers get back into a hospital so quickly are answered. I thought maybe more hints should have been in the first part but still very well done. This is why I’m giving it 4 stars.

What sets this book apart is its pacing. Just when you think you can catch your breath another twist sends you into the next cliffhanger. The integration of robots (but not what you’d think) will keep you engaged. I don’t want to give away the cool twist here.

Some unexpected heroes turn out to be a group of teenagers who stumble upon the attack brings a fun and exciting dynamic. Their accidental involvement and race to outsmart the cyber criminals is a nice counterbalance to the medical drama unfolding.

With its not perfect, but I wouldn’t expect that from a new author, it’s a recommended read for anyone who loves fast-paced thrillers. Clear your schedule before you start because you might not be able to put this one down once you get past the first 6 chapters or so.
